Simon Zachenhuber was born in Landshut in 1998 and grew up with his two sisters near Erding. After his secondary school leaving certificate, he graduated from high school. He is currently studying business informatics in Stuttgart.
Simon comes from an absolute sports family. His mother and stepfather run a swimming school and his 16-year-old sister Amelie is one of the best young German swimmers. Her big brother Simon also started out swimming, then tried his hand at modern pentathlon, as a biathlete and as a kickboxer.
The sporting all-rounder had great success in all disciplines, for example he was German runner-up in the Biathle in 2009, came second in the South German Pentathlon Championships and, at the age of 19, competed in the World Kickboxing Championship for Germany. By the way, he started kickboxing back then mainly to impress the girls with his muscles.
In 2017 the self-proclaimed “country egg” Simon was discovered by professional boxing trainer Conny Mittermeier, who brought him to Stuttgart only a little later. “Simon not only has the talent but also the will that a full professional needs.” He has been training him under professional conditions since January 2018. For the young man this also means renouncing alcohol and parties: “I like to sacrifice it for boxing, I’m just passionate about sport.”
So far, Zachenhuber has won each of his eleven middleweight fights, six of them with a knockout victory. “My strength is a strong defense, according to the motto, deal a lot but get little.” His goal: “Covering work that makes the others desperate.”
The 22-year-old also has the right attitude in his blood for the challenge “Let’s Dance”: “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, Ali has already said. Now I will do my best to float above the parquet.”
