Since then, the lives of the two, whose previous focus was on their sports careers, have changed fundamentally. “It was a 180 degree turn,” laughs Kathi. “But I was ready for this task.” It is clear that little Fabio is a 24-hour job. “But he means well for me. He’s kind at night, but he keeps me on my toes during the day.” Dad David is enjoying the holidays after tough weeks of competition, and the offspring even saw him on his feet in Hochfilzen. “The little one completely overslept the sprint,” laughs the young father. After all, he was wide awake during the season. “He screamed right away,” grins Mama Katharina. They don’t need any special gifts. “We are enjoying our first Christmas as a group of three and with our grandparents. Our Fabio is certainly the greatest gift!”
