Zbigniew Mikołejko born July 24, 1951 in Lidzbark Warmiński. Was philosopher and historian of religionand essayist and poet.
Professor of humanities
Was professor dr. hab. humanitieshe served as head of the Department of Religion Research in Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Scienceswas also a member American Academy in Rome (1996) and Warsaw Scientific Society (2020. Lectured at various universities in Warsaw, as well as in Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.
One thousand publications in nine languages
Prof. Mikolajko spent approx thousand publications in nine languages. His most important books include: titles such as “Catholic philosophy of culture in Poland in the era of modernism” (1987), “Elements of philosophy” (seven editions, 1998-2008), “Death and text. The final situation in the perspective of the word” (2001, Ukrainian translation – 2014), “Lives of the Saints revised” (2001, 2004, 2011), “In the power of the hanged man”, vol. 1-2 (2012-2014), and also “Lives of the saints revised again” (2017), “Between salvation and Smolensk. Studies and sketches about Polish Catholicism in recent years” (2018) and “Provinces of Darkness. Random essays” (2018) i poemat “Quintet” (2019).
River interview
W 2013 r. was published by Dorota Kowalska his river interview titled “How to wander effectively“. The Mikołowski Institute, where he made his debut as a poet, published three volumes of his poems – “Bitter regrets” (2017), “Heilsberg, this city” (2018) and “Now and always” (2022).
Prizes and awards
Prof. Zbigniew Mikołejko was awarded, among others, Silver Medal for Merit to Culture Gloria Artisthe Kazimierz Jagiellończyk Award and the ACADEMIA Award (for the Best Academic Humanities Book, 2015).
