September 22 marks 2 years since the death of Prof. Julian Vuchkov. During his lifetime, the TV legend was at enmity with his half-brother – the actor from the National Theater Mikhail Petrov, but ironically he turned out to be his only heir and acquired everything that the professor had until his last hour, Retro newspaper writes.
In addition to his savings in a bank, as well as his apartment in the heart of Sofia, Petrov also acquired the copyright over his books. The latter was published posthumously on the initiative of Eurocom TV, where Vuchkov hosted his cult show “Times and Morals”. The materials were provided by his brother, and the book describes that the rights explicitly belong to him. This means that he takes a percentage of each sale of the volume, which is distributed at a price of BGN 35.
The artist also took a large sum from the home of the late professor. Shortly after his death, he sold the apartment on Hristo Belchev Street to other owners, and Vuchkov’s neighbors then complained on social media that some of his belongings, including many books, had been mercilessly dumped on the street by workers. who were hired to clean. After a major renovation, which completely transformed the critic’s rooms, his apartment was rented out for a sum of BGN 1,000 per month. However, the announcement is no longer relevant, which probably means that people have already settled in the professor’s apartment, who hardly suspect that he ever lived there.
Mihail Petrov also inherited Vuchkov’s assets, which had swelled to nearly half a million, according to people around him. The TV legend was famous for his frugality, but he did not like to share details about his financial situation. However, his half-brother did not take care of his eternal home. A neighbor of the professor said months ago that his grave was visited only by her. While he was alive, she helped him in everyday life, and now she regularly went around his plot in the Central Sofia Cemetery, where his urn was laid after his death.
