The Head of the Clinic for Functional Diagnosis of the Nervous System of the Military Medical Academy – Prof. Ekaterina Tityanova, MD She died on the same day as her husband – Chavdar Rusev, who is the Executive Secretary of the Association for the Development of Mountain Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria. This is sadly announced on Facebook by Prof. Tityanova’s first cousin – Antoaneta Tityanova. Both were removed very quickly by the coronavirus.
Ekaterina Tityanova is a professor of neurology, doctor of medical sciences and head of the clinic “Functional diagnostics of the nervous system”. He is a member of the Faculty Council and heads the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Medical Faculty of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, founder and holder of the discipline “Nervous Diseases”. Since 2013 he has been an academician of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and since 2015 – an academician of the Serbian Royal Academy.
Prof. Tityanova graduated in medicine in 1982 at the Medical Academy – Sofia. He started working as a neurologist at the Gotse Delchev Regional Hospital. In 1983 he entered the Department of Neurology at the Medical Academy, Sofia. Later he became head of the neurology department at the University Specialized Hospital of Neurology and Psychiatry “St. Naum” EAD, Sofia and the Laboratory of Clinical Neurosonography.
