In the last 10 years, the services have persistently said that no one has been appointed to a managerial position without having passed an interview with Peevski. This was said in the program “Face to Face” on BTV by the candidate for MP from “There is such a people” and former Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior Prof. Nikolay Radulov.
Ilko Zhelyazkov (Sanctioned by the United States on the Magnitsky list, who resigned a few days ago as a member of the SRS control bureau – ed.) he has never been a chief of the security services, except for a short period in DATO, said Prof. Radulov.
He revealed that during his work in the services after 2000, Zhelyazkov was caught providing services to Greek intelligence and smugglers.
It was not customary then to take off the dirty shirts and just released him. Then, when the security services changed, someone hired him as an undercover officer. Since SANS knows all these things about him, how did this person get access to classified information? Does this correspond to what was said that SANS works very well and defeats Russian spies? You see a man who, if we consider him to be connected with special services, has constantly inflicted moral and financial damage on them, said the former Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior.
The connection between Zhelyazkov and Peevski is visible, as they worked together in the State Reserve, which pushed him forward in his career. Mr. Peevski was a staff member of SANS when he was elected head of the State Agency for National Security (June 14, 2013 – ed.). The speed with which he was granted access to classified information was also phenomenal – in about two days, and in fact the procedure takes about six months. There is a discrepancy between what SANS has to do for access to classified information and what it actually does, said Prof. Nikolay Radulov.
Interestingly, it turned out that all the recently fired heads of special services have been fired because they are terrible fighters against Russian espionage. It will soon be clear whether this is really the case, because in order to work in the case of a spy, documentary traces are left. I am very interested in what they worked on. I am very interested in what and how many developments there are regarding the Belene NPP, because we lost billions there, what developments there are in the construction of the Balkan Stream, which was guarded by Russians. If there is not a single development for all this, because it is a matter of losses for the state in the amount of about BGN 10 billion, the question arises who is a Russian spy. If there is no investigation, I’m starting to think that the special services were dealing with the cover-up of Russian spies in our country. We will soon find out whether we really oppose the Russian spies, commented the candidate for MP from “There is such a people”.
For many years we will pay tribute to the appointment of loyal but incompetent people in the security services. This will also affect the slower response to crime. It turned out that crime is not on the street, but in power, said Prof. Radulov.
