We welcome the astronomical spring with warm and sunny weather. This was stated by climatologist Prof. Georgi Rachev on bTV.
“We are now on the crest of the last warm-cold wave, after which – from Friday, the weather will become more stable, i.e. it will stay warm. Before that happens, however, an anticyclone will move in, creating a wintry feel on Thursday. Snow may fall in many places above 600-700 m, and a permanent snow cover will form in the mountains. This will continue in the next 10 days, but these will be the last efforts of Baba Marta, the climatologist said.
Prof. Rachev explained that it will be warm in Southwestern Bulgaria today, but on Wednesday the rain will start with the invasion of colder air. On Thursday, wet snow will probably fall there, after which the warming will begin.
Temperatures from 0 to 6 degrees are expected in Sofia on Thursday, and there will also be an unpleasant cold wind. It will rain in Borovets on Wednesday, which will turn into snow. Temperatures there will drop to minus 4 degrees, and the maximum on Thursday will be around zero. The slopes will be covered with new snow cover.
On Thursday, it will be around 8 degrees by the sea. The precipitation there will be significant, but it will be from rain. The Danube plain will also enjoy precipitation and significant rainfall, but mostly rain. A biting cold wind will also appear there on Thursday.
On Sunday, the temperature in Sofia may exceed 20 degrees because of the south wind, but it is precisely because of it that it is difficult to give an exact forecast.
It is a positive temperature anomaly, not by much, but it will continue to grow. The rest of the region is expected to be even warmer, but the precipitation is not enough, Prof. Rachev also said.
The air has no boundaries and you can’t stop it at “Kalotina” or at “Captain Andreevo”. It is the same, and no matter how rich you are, you cannot escape it.
Well, there is a way – you can run away to an island, but you will have to return to Los Angeles to get the “Oscar”, Rachev said on the occasion of the Australian study that the Earth’s clean air is almost exhausted.
