Prof. Rachev hastily spoiled our mood. What awaits us in time – 2024-08-20 05:07:09

Today and tomorrow it will cool slightly, it is expected to rain, but by Saturday it will again be from 35 to 39-40 degrees. This summer will be the warmest on record. We are writing history. These statements were made on bTV by climatologist Prof. Georgi Rachev.

Today and tomorrow there will be precipitation in Western and especially Southwestern Bulgaria, Eastern Bulgaria will remain dry. The drought is brutal. There is no water in the rivers.

From Thursday, temperatures start to rise again. After the hot Saturday, it will be warm again, but not with these extreme temperatures, reassured Prof. Rachev.

He started his weather forecast with the rain that fell in five minutes in Sofia. He noted that there has been no significant rainfall in the capital for a month and at least 5 to 10 liters per square meter should form in the next hours.

He added that the low atmospheric pressure today and tomorrow in the western and especially in the southwestern part of Bulgaria will cause precipitation, which in some places will be of the order of 10-15 liters.

Unfortunately, rain will fall in few places and the eastern half of Bulgaria remains dry. The drought is brutal, not only along the sea, but also in Dobruja, with probabilities for southeastern Bulgaria, Rachev also said.

The rivers have absolutely minimal swelling, there is simply no water, and this water that is in the dams must be used extremely wisely. It should now be used especially for irrigation, the professor is emphatic.

According to him, the temperature in Sofia today will be 28 degrees, tomorrow there is a possibility that it will rain again, and from Thursday the grill will be turned on.
