The great Bulgarian archaeologist Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov of the law “We continue the change”. He caught MP Venko Sabrutev in ignorance of history.
Here is what Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov said:
Today, the government astonished us with another “brilliant” presentation on the issues of native history.
Venko Sabrutev, MP “We continue the change” and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance in the National Assembly, announced at a public hearing on BNT that the northern Macedonian country can make an important gesture to warm relations between the two countries – to return bones to Bulgaria of King Samuel.
The same MP proudly announced that he had not set foot in the Republic of Northern Macedonia. Which, of course, doesn’t stop him from having an opinion on the matter.
Dear Mr. Sabrutev, the bones of Tsar Samuel are in the museum in Thessaloniki, Greece, at least since the time when archaeologist Prof. Nikolaos Mutsopoulos pulled them out of the ground in the 1960s on the small island of St. Achilles ”in Lake Prespa.
We have been fighting to bring them back to our country for several decades, and in addition to scientists, former Bulgarian politicians – ministers and even presidents – have committed themselves to this cause.
But in our country today everything in world history begins with the current rule of “Change”. Speakers of this party have long neglected history and considered it annoying and unnecessary. Especially as far as the sensitive issues surrounding the dispute with Northern Macedonia are concerned!
