Prof. Nako Stefanov: Through the platform for a society of shared destiny, China is forming a multipolar world of peace and development –

/ world today news/ Chinese President Xi Jinping’s initiative for a global society of shared destiny is at the core of Beijing’s foreign policy, and this can be illustrated through various events – with these words begins the commentary on the KMG of Prof. Dr. in history Nako Stefanov.

At the beginning, the professor briefly recalled the chronology of events, beginning in November 2012, when, during the 18th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, General Secretary Xi Jinping raised the concept of a “Society of Shared Destiny”. Later in 2015 .Xi Jinping proposes to introduce this concept at the 70th UN General Assembly as a platform for realizing peaceful development and building a harmonious world. It is this concept that becomes one of the cornerstones of Beijing’s foreign policy, which can be illustrated through various events, explains Prof. Stefanov and specifies: “In 2021, the PRC entered a new stage of development and construction of modern socialism with Chinese specifics. The “two sessions” – the key events in China at the beginning of March 2021 – made clear goals and mapped out routes for their achievement. On the one hand, this is the Session of the Supreme Consultative Body of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Council (NCPCC). On the other hand, it was the Fourth Session of the 13th Chinese General Assembly of People’s Representatives/NPC/. At these two forums, the 14th five-year plan (2021-2025) for socio-economic development of the PRC was discussed and approved. The Development Plan until 2035 was also discussed and adopted. The approved strategic documents become key guidelines to guide the further economic and social dynamics of the PRC in the next 5 and 15 years.”

Today, in 2023, despite the complicated geo-economic and geo-political environment, this long-term course in China’s development remains unchanged, the professor is emphatic. Thanks to the targeted support for market entities from the state, the beneficial effects continue to be manifested, expressed in strengthening the sustainability of socio-economic dynamics, he emphasizes.

As another extremely significant conclusion that is necessary, the famous Bulgarian scientist and researcher defines the irrefutable fact that the PRC is becoming a “locomotive that pulls the train of global economic recovery”. Evidence in this regard is the assessment of national statistics, according to which in 2021 China contributed 25% (1/4) to the world economic growth. In other words, Beijing proves with its development the positive nature of its globalization model, standing on the platform of the shared destiny of humanity. At the same time, China’s multilateral relations strengthen the process of forming a multipolar world.

The foreign policy of the PRC strictly adheres to the above platform of shared destiny. A number of Beijing’s foreign policy initiatives follow precisely this course, he also points out, recalling that China joined the “Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership” (RCEP) initiative, which was “conceived” at the regional meeting in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi. RVIP is responsible for 30% of the world’s economy, 30% of the world’s population and will reach two billion two hundred million users. The CIS becomes the largest trade block in the world, covering the fastest growing economic region on planet Earth, in which the PRC is undoubtedly the locomotive block!

As another example, Prof. Stefanov points to the 17th meeting of the G-20, in November 2022, at Fr. Bali, Indonesia. The Chinese side, recognizing that Sino-US relations, especially after Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, is at a very low point in its dynamics, called on the US to work together with China to return Sino-US relations to the path of stable development. which “serves” the interests of both parties and meets the expectations of the world.

In this regard, the 12-point Plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, called “China’s position on a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis”, can also be considered, commented the professor. This position contains such points as, for example, point 1, demanding to respect the sovereignty of all countries. The PRC considers it necessary to abide by international laws, including the UN Charter, but without “double standards”. Accordingly, point 2 calls for abandoning the Cold War mentality. China is convinced that “one country’s security cannot be achieved at the expense of other countries’ security, and regional security cannot be guaranteed by strengthening or expanding military blocs.” The PRC called for taking the “legitimate security interests of all countries” seriously, as well as “promoting the construction of a balanced, effective and sustainable European security architecture” and “preventing the formation of bloc confrontations.” The following points talk about ending the war, starting peace negotiations, maintaining the safety of nuclear power plants, reducing strategic risks, ending unilateral sanctions, etc.

Prof. Nako Stefanov points to the Agreement reached on March 10 of this year as an important and effective international initiative. of talks in Beijing between belligerents Iran and Saudi Arabia to restore diplomatic relations. He also quoted Wang Yi, head of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CCP Central Committee, which is involved in the mediation efforts, as saying that the Agreement was a “victory for peace.”

In the end, it should be clearly stated that the PRC appears in today’s “conflict-ridden” turbulent world, a force of stability – the Bulgarian expert stated in his comment, emphasizing once again that by sticking to the platform for the world as a Global Society of shared destiny, China realizes through multilateral relations the formation of a multipolar world of peace and development.
