According to him, the candidacy of Plamen Oresharski can play a positive role for the left-wing space of the runoff, when left-wing voters will unite.
“In the first round, the left will appear divided. You see – General Radev, the ABV candidacy, Mrs. Tatiana Doncheva, now comes Mr. Oresharski, who in some sense was the last prime minister of a left-wing government. The left will be crushed in the first round, but there will be a second. And those people who already voted once in the first round, some of them will go to the second round for the remaining candidate to vote. This fragmentation of the left also means mobilization of the left, because there is a week between the two rounds, and so the voters of Kalfin, Radev, Doncheva and Oresharski can largely unite and support the one of them who went to the runoff, which is most likely General Radev. So the situation is by no means decided, although, of course, the still unknown candidate of GERB has the greatest chances,” commented the political analyst.
Prof. Mihail Konstantinov added that, in his opinion, the candidacy of the Reform Bloc has no chance of reaching a runoff.
