If we have 2.5 million voters in the parliamentary elections in our country, to get a party into the parliament with 10 deputies, you need 100,000 votes for it, because the entry threshold is 4% of the actual votes. So the parties do the math.
Prof. Mihail Konstantinov commented this to Nova News.
For the European Parliament, the barrier is 5.88%. There, the quota for Bulgaria is 17 deputies, he explained.
According to sociology, so far in our parliament, two party groups cannot make an assembly. There must be at least three, he pointed out.
It’s hard for me to predict who will ally with whom. I prefer to work with more stable numbers. First, there are no barriers for our politicians. They are ready for anything to get their hands on power. Don’t listen to what they are telling you right now, they are ready for anything, we have seen it already. So I don’t want to comment on the moods and possibilities of politicians – they are unlimited, he explained.
Of course, some of the disillusioned voters, if they go to the polls, will support one of the new formations that have emerged, the professor pointed out.
