I am an Etropolis son-in-law, so I took to heart the invitation to come to this forum.
This is how the rector of the UNSS, Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov, began his speech at the forum of “Standard” “The Demographic Future of the Regions”.
Regarding UNSS, he said that the university advertises itself with 12 prime ministers who are its graduates. However, the Ministry of Education believes that there are many economists and is reducing their number every year.
Prof. Dimitrov spoke about the university’s work with the regions:
“We have an initiative to hold entrance exams in places so that the candidate students do not have to travel. We conduct information campaigns to familiarize children with the prospects after graduating from the university. We work with many municipalities – Sandanski, Gotse Delchev, Petrich, Belitsa. These students who study at UNSS work well with the municipality and local business, because they should work with students while they are still studying. We have such a model in Etropole “said Prof. Dimitrov.
He pointed out that Etropole is a living city. This is due to several factors. But transport connectivity is also very important.
“These projects – Stoichkov’s school, volleyball center – these are jewels that must be supported. Many people will come here.
Why do people stay in Etropole and not move to Sofia – because there is an opportunity for good education and health care. The municipality must provide these things, and the business will come by itself,” said Prof. Dimitrov.
