Prof. Angelov or Assoc. Prof. Mangarov? 26 times more Bulgarians trusted the minister

135 medics attacked the policy on April 4, only 9 enter

The GERB-UDF group scores the most – four, one from the BSP. Only Maya’s people in parliament do not have a doctor

Surgeon Kostadin Angelov and infectious disease specialist Atanas Mangarov were two of a total of 135 doctors who attacked politics on April 4th.

This was the largest number of doctors among the candidates since the National Assembly in our country, but nevertheless only 9 medics enter the 45th parliament.

The battle between the Minister of Health and the main critic of the measures taken by this government to fight the contagion ends in great benefit to the professor. Kostadin Angelov managed to “pull” his GERB-UDF coalition in Varna and Veliko Tarnovo, where he led the lists of deputies, with a total of 80,291 votes. Atanas Mangarov faced him in Varna. There and in the 23rd constituency in Sofia, he gathered a total of 3,094 supporters of his policy, who voted for the ABC party. Which means that the former head of the Alexandrovska Hospital managed to attract 25.9 times more votes than his colleague from the Infectious Diseases Hospital.

And while Angelov ended his parliamentary campaign to speak only on the topic in which he is competent – medicine and COVID, Mangarov spoke everywhere and on all topics on behalf of the political force of former Interior Minister Rumen Petkov. Including energy.

in our country, because in the last year he has become the face of the ideology against lockdowns, masks and social distance.

However, Mangarov remained outside parliament, as did the entire ABV, which failed to jump the 4% barrier.

The infectious disease specialist garnered only 574 preferences as a leader in the sea capital, where the party received 1,305 votes. The associate professor received the most votes from ABV supporters in the 23rd MIR, where he was also the leader. There, his number was marked by 785 people from a total of 1789 citizens of Sofia, who voted for the party in this area.

In the direct battle between the minister and his opponent in Varna as leader of the GERB-UDF coalition list, Kostadin Angelov cashed in on his rating with 5,398 preferences, and the blue coalition there garnered 56,904 votes. And the idea that Mangarov will attract votes from people who do not believe in the coronavirus, apparently did not work, after the associate professor was there with only 574 preferences.

As a leader in Veliko Tarnovo, Prof. Angelov received 2,632 personal votes with 23,387 ballots submitted for GERB. There, the only one with more is the local journalist and publisher Dimitar Nikolov with 3219 preferences.

It turns out that in Veliko Tarnovo was the more serious opponent of the Minister of Health – one of the brightest faces of “There is such a people” immunologist prof. Andrey Chorbanov. He and his ideas for lighter COVID measures brought him 3,689 preferences, and Slavi’s party garnered 20,336 votes.

Thus, Angelov won in the old capital with more than 3 thousand votes for GERB-UDF Prof. Chorbanov and “There is such a people.” The immunologist from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has repeatedly spoken out in recent months against harsh measures such as the closure of restaurants and shops. He denied the effectiveness of the tightening that the government was introducing at the peaks with the most patients.

Another doctor remains outside the parliament – a significant candidate who, like Assoc. Prof. Mangarov, is fighting for the votes in Varna – the leader of KOD and former Minister of Health Peter Moskov. He managed to collect 210 preferences, and only 625 people voted for the party.

One of the big surprises came from “Democratic Bulgaria”. The famous pulmonologist Dr. Alexander Simidchiev became an MP from the 26th MIR Sofia region, where he led the list of DB. There he collected the most preferences of all candidates – 1226. Unlike the capital, however, in the district the union received low support (5482 people). The doctor was in third place in the 25th MIR, where the sympathies of voters

have ordered it

leader Hristo

Ivanov,

with his 2525 preferences ahead of the prominent environmentalist Borislav Sandov.

However, Dr. Simidchiev, unlike Mangarov and Chorbanov, is among the experts who spoke expertly and seriously all year about COVID, the damage from the virus and the need for prevention.

Most doctors in the new parliament are introduced by GERB-UDF, headed by the Minister of Health. The current chairwoman of the health commission and head of the GERB group will be an MP again Dr. Daniela Daritkova. She received 1,715 preferences with a total of 15,571 votes for the coalition in the Smolyan region, where she led. Although Daritkova has been an MP since 2009.

Third on her list was anesthesiologist and former member of the 44th National Assembly Krassimir Sabev. He is from the civil quota of GERB, he is the head of the anesthesiology department at the Smolyan hospital. Dr. Sabev is the first in terms of preferences in the entire constituency – 2696, but remains outside the parliament, because in Smolyan GERB and UDF took only one seat.

But the coalition also boasts two other prominent surgeons in its parliamentary ranks. One is the driver in Pleven Prof. Grigor Gorchev. The pioneer in robotic surgery and

Prof. Gorchev

took 2388 preferences with a total of 9210 votes for the coalition in the region. The other new medical MP is the vascular surgeon and head of the Yambol regional hospital Dr. Dimitar Runkov, collected 1412 personal votes as a leader there with a total of 11,703 votes for the parties.

GERB is parting ways with one of the longest-serving MPs and personal physician of Boyko Borisov, Assoc. Prof. Lachezar Ivanov. He was fourth on the list for the 25th MIR, led by Borissov. Although the prime minister resigned his seat, this

Lachezar Ivanov

to enter

Parliament –

actor Eugene

Budinov,

who has collected 343 personal preferences. And the doctor has only 197 preferences.

“There are such people” introduces in the parliament another well-known name in healthcare besides Prof. Andrey Chorbanov. This is the former director of “Alexandrovska” Assoc. Prof. Sylvie Petrovwho enters from Haskovo. He was second there. Preference for him was noted by 458 people, and the party received 15,664 votes in this PEACE.

The only BSP MP in the new parliament is the oncologist Prof. Georgi Mikhailov, who in the last term was part of the red group. The former director of the oncohematology hospital in the capital this time will sit on the deputy bank as the leader of the list in Blagoevgrad. There, however, he collected 1,056 preferences, which would otherwise place him in 5th place among all candidates. 19,286 Blagoevgrad residents voted for the left.

MRF will have two doctors – the former Minister of Social Affairs and the current head of the Social Commission Dr. Hassan Ademov and surgeon Dzhevdet Chakarov, who was Minister of the Environment. Among the health specialists of the movement will no longer be the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and the Health Commission, Dr. Nigar Jaffer, who did not run in the election race. As a leader in Dobrich, Hassan Ademov collected 301 preferences out of 6003 MRF ballots in the region. Dr. Chakarov entered from Silistra, where he was the leader, and took 273 ballots in a personal vote with over 14,000 votes for the movement. In the MRF, however, preferential voting is generally not encouraged.

The only medics in the parliament do not score from “Stand up! Get out! ” of Maya Manolova, where lawyers predominate.
