/ world today news/ In my opinion, there is no doubt that social tension and the polarization of society is growing in the United States. We are talking about a confrontation – class in form and racial in content.
America has long passed the peak of its development, and since the mid-1970s, figuratively speaking, it has “exited the fair of history.” Another thing is that the USA has accumulated a lot of social fat, its transnational companies are robbing the whole world. And in 1990 they did a good job of cleaning up the former social camp and especially Russia.
But fate gives nothing forever, and from 2007-2008 their crisis developed rapidly. The US problem is that it consumes 3-4 times more goods and services than it produces. This unjust state of affairs must end someday.
Clearly, we are seeing a worsening situation for the average American (with income). According to sociological studies, today his standard of living corresponds to the period of the late 1950s – early 1960s of the last century.
First and foremost, African-Americans and Hispanic citizens are under attack. This naturally causes protests, and the disaffected become more and more.
A famous American sociologist in a personal conversation with me (we were in perestroika at the time) said that the United States will face its own perestroika in the 2020s. And since it will be about race relations, it could turn out to be very bloody. What we are seeing in America is a systemic crisis in the United States as the core of the capitalist system. And it will only get deeper.
The ethnic balance of the United States is actively changing (given migration flows and higher birth rates among African Americans and Hispanics). In some southern states, Hispanics put pressure on whites.
The same is happening with the black population. However, the American elite is not so much worried about riots at the bottom of the social pyramid, but rather the fact that they will push the non-white elite to the top. And this will already mean serious changes in the structure of the governing layer.
When they point to Obama or the same Condoleezza Rice as a confirmation of the thesis that America is a “country of equal opportunities”, I answer this way: the American elite very carefully selects that part of the non-white population, which, due to characteristics of its psychotype, can work in the interest of the white elite. Obama takes a class position. It doesn’t matter what color his skin is.
We see that the vaunted “melting pot” has overheated and is no longer working. Neither Latinos nor African Americans want to be integrated into the world of the “American Dream” anymore. Because today it is destroyed.
In general, it should be noted that the “American dream” is part of the era of prosperity of capitalism, which is associated not with its internal logic, but with the opposition to the Soviet Union and the socialist camp.
From 1945 to the end of the 1980s. The US (and the countries of Western Europe) were forced to “feed” their middle class and working class to make the American model attractive in their eyes. Because nearby was the Soviet Union, in which the idea of social equality was embodied in its fullest form.
1960-1970 in the USA was not capitalism, but a forced deviation from it. An attempt to imitate socialism to please its middle class and working class. And when the USSR collapsed, capitalism returned to the “iron heel” state it was in in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Therefore, the US is facing very serious shocks. Surely they will try to get out of this difficult situation by the way of war. Because this already happened in the 1930s. XX century.
This means taking their problems out into the outside world. We are told about the successes of Roosevelt’s New Deal in the 1930s. In my opinion, such historians “cast a shadow on the fence.” In fact, the New Deal only created new problems.
It is no coincidence that in the mid-1930s, Roosevelt had a very serious opponent in the person of the governor of Louisiana, Huey Long, who became the prototype of Willy Stark, the main character of the novel “All the King’s Men” by Robert Penn Warren.
This character created a society of property redistribution across America. But at the end of the book, he is killed, of course, by a “loner” (as later in real life by John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King).
In general, in the late 1930s, the United States was faced with a choice – either serious social reforms that would harm the capitalist class, or a world war.
We know very well which option they chose. By the way, it is very symbolic that Franklin Delano Roosevelt started using this expression six months earlier than Hitler.
The US is in the same situation today. Under nuclear deterrence, World War III is unlikely to be unleashed. Rather, the White House is trying to achieve some sort of “world chaos.” By the way, at the end of 1980, the USA was on the verge of collapse, only the collapse of the USSR saved it.
On October 19, 1987, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 22.3% on the day. It was an absolute record. And Alan Greenspan, who was then called to head the Fed, said: “Only a miracle will save us.”
That “miracle” was the destruction of the USSR. Had this not happened, hard times would have come for the US. But it was absolutely impossible to deal with us militarily.
Unlike Yeltsin’s time, it is still impossible to deal with us by force. Another thing is that you can “hold the breath” of the Russian Federation in any possible way. America is in a very difficult situation. But this is the “hole” they dug for themselves.
“Americans have always positioned themselves as Rome in their historical analogies, which made me laugh, and still makes me laugh. All this stylization with eagles, the Senate, the Capitol, etc., speaks of pretension, not reality. Because in the foundations of their power is very similar to Carthage. And they would have died like Carthage if the USSR had not destroyed itself.
And now the end looks like the end of Assyria. There were too many rebels and enemies, and when a great defeat occurred, they all rushed to Assyria.
Read how it happened, how the ground floats under your feet. This is exactly the current situation with the US.” smirnoff-v.livejournal.com
An interesting American researcher, Chalmers Johnson, wrote the book “Blowback” in 2000. In which he predicted that in the first half of this century, the United States would receive a return for its policy in Asia in the second half of the 20th century.
At first no attention was paid to this research, but after 9/11 the book was republished. And Chalmers Johnson wrote two more parts of the trilogy (“Sorrow of Empire” and “Nemesis”). In fact, he showed in detail how the American Empire would collapse.
It makes sense to listen to this person’s forecast. Because he is not just a publicist, but a CIA native, a specialist in fighting the guerrilla movement in Southeast Asia, and also an expert on Japan.
According to him, in the 1990s, under the administration of Clinton, the USA ceased to be a republic and became a military empire. They are also crumbling before our eyes. It is a huge “dinosaur” that is dying, but its “convulsions” can be very dangerous to the world. Especially given the elite crisis in the US. Not very adequate people can cause trouble.
