An Apple supplier is preparing to produce new models of the AirPods and Apple Watch, sources from DigiTimes.
Taiwanese ASE Technology would currently have enough chips in house for two new models of the Apple Watch. The company makes small parts for Apple that fit almost the entire computer system of wearables.
Parts would also be made for Apple’s wireless AirPods caps.
The production increase is in line with previous rumors of Bloomberg, according to whom Apple will present a successor to the Apple Watch Series 5 later this year. A new budget model would also be made, with which Apple wants to compete with cheaper fitness trackers from Fitbit, for example.

Both new wearables are rumored to hit the market around October. That is a month later than is normally the case with the Apple Watch. Earlier, Apple said that the iPhone 12 will also come a little later than expected.
The new AirPods are planned for early 2021 according to previous sources. It is therefore the question whether they will be mentioned during the October unveiling.
