Production of iPhone SE 3 5G set to begin, announcement expected in April or May

Panel production is about to start on Apple’s new 5G ‘iPhone SE 3’, according to a reliable analyst. Ross Young which suggests that mass production will likely begin in March before an official announcement in the second half of April or early May.

The idea follows after Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman claimed last week to have heard from sources who Apple is planning its first virtual special event of the year for March or April, where the new iPhone will likely be announced alongside an updated iPad Air with 5G connectivity, the A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage support, and more.

The next “iPhone SE 3” is should feature the same iPhone 8-style design as the current-gen model with 5G support with updated internals from the iPhone 13, including the A15 Bionic chip.

According to Young, panel makers are expected to begin production later this month, suggesting customer shipments will begin from late April or early May.

Apple announced the current generation iPhone SE in April 2020, featuring a 4.7-inch LCD screen, Touch ID home button and A13 Bionic chip, retails for $399.
