The second part of the beloved film was launched into production.
The press service of the Rossiya TV channel issued a statement that the second part of the film “Cheburashka” has been put into production, and the release of the film on the big screens of domestic cinemas is scheduled for the first day of 2026.
“Inspired by the success of the project and the enormous support from the audience, the creators decided to continue the story. It’s official: “Cheburashka-2” has gone into production! The next part about the adventures of already beloved heroes and new characters will be released during the New Year holidays, January 1, 2026,” the channel said in a statement.
The same team that created the first film is working on the second part; Dmitry Dyachenko will be the director. The script is already being written, locations are being selected, and the preparation process is in full swing. As the general producer of Yellow, Black and White Vitaly Shlyappo said, the plot of the new part will develop a year after the events of the first film, Cheburashka will gradually get used to life with Gena and will begin to show excessive independence, and sometimes even become a hooligan.
