Production at Škoda Auto will not start until January 10

According to the unions, Škoda Auto demanded that a holiday be planned for days without production, but the unions refused.

“For these days, we have negotiated an obstacle on the part of the employer with compensation of 80 percent of the average wage, which represents daily earnings,” said Jaroslav Povšík, Chairman of the Works Council.

“It is true that those who do not have a meaningful job these days have an obstacle on the part of the employer, the company accepted it,” he added.

In the operation of components, people will return to work in the first week of next year.

In the period from January to September, the carmaker Škoda Auto almost doubled its operating profit to 900 million euros (approximately 23 billion CZK) from 469 million euros a year ago.
