Within the framework of the Cannes festival since 2000, the European cinema promotion organization European Film Promotion (EFP) organizes a platform for film producers Producers on the Move, for which 20 professional and promising film producers from all over Europe are selected every year. Producers selected for the platform participate online and in person during the Cannes Film Festival in master classes, seminars and essential professional networking activities. It is an opportunity for producers, whose previously produced films have shown good local and international distribution results, to promote their next projects at the Cannes Film Festival, attracting cooperation partners for co-productions and sales agents for their further distribution, as well as consulting with internationally recognized audiovisual industry specialists. The EFP operates with the support of the national cinema institutions of the member states and provides producers and their projects with intensive publicity in the major publications of the cinema industry, including Cineuropa and Variety.
Selection criteria for participation in the platform Producers on the Move it is assumed that the previous film produced by the producer was screened at one of the most important international film festivals in Berlin, Cannes, Venice, etc. etc., the film must be well received in the national market, having received national cinema awards, and must have been screened in other countries; the applicant must not be older than 45 years.
