The program Today Inside with Johan Derksen, Wilfred Genee and René van der Gijp will be shown again on Dutch television from next Monday. Talpa Network has now also confirmed this.

The three presenters decided to stop on April 29, after Derksen confessed on television that he had penetrated an unconscious woman with a candle several decades ago. After a commotion ensued, Derksen went back on his story and claimed that there had been no penetration.
In a statement, Talpa says that it has now spoken to the three, and on that basis decided to broadcast the program again. Derksen Genee and van der Gijp are ‘occasionally on the edge’, the network admits, and Derksen’s statement was ‘a step too far in several respects’. However, according to Talpa, the presenter has “clearly distanced enough from what went wrong”. ‘A program like Today Inside deserves a place in the Dutch media landscape’, concludes the network.
Derksen himself had Wednesday already informed the Dutch media that the program would return to television, but Talpa dismissed the message as ‘premature’ at the time.
