Producer Rohan Gottschalk stops after 21 years at Goede Tijden, Bad Tijden | NOW

Rohan Gottschalk retired on October 1 as a creative producer of Good times Bad Times, reports producent Endemol Shine Friday. Gottschalk was associated with the popular soap series for 21 years in various positions.

The 43-year-old Gottschalk started as a screenwriter, after which he took on the task of head writer. For the last eight and a half years he was responsible for the content of Good times Bad Times.

“Now that GTST has celebrated its 30th anniversary on October 1, I have decided that it is a great time for me to broaden my horizons and say goodbye to the series and the team with which I will always remain attached,” said Gottschalk.

Bee Good times Bad Times Idse Grotenhuis has been trained by Gottschalk since 1 August. Grotenhuis was already a director of the soap series in the nineties. Since then he has worked as a creative producer Relatives, ‘T Vrije Schaep in Girl of Pleasure.

“The soap opera genre in general and the GTST series in particular is an old love that keeps burning”, says Grotenhuis. “I am therefore delighted to set a course that will hopefully keep the series attractive to a large audience for years to come.”

Good times Bad Times has been struggling in recent years with decreased viewing figures. At the end of last year, the first episode of the 30th season attracted only 665,000 viewers, which marked a low point in the series’ existence. The last episode in May of this year was also the only watched final episode ever with 663,000 viewers.
