It was originally not the intention that everyone in the television series Flikken Maastricht speaks Hooghollands while the series is set in Limburg. Eva, played by Angela Schijf, was originally supposed to speak with a Limburg accent.

Accent
According to the makers of the series, the character of Eva van Dongen is a Maastricht, but nothing can be heard of that. When the recordings of the series started in 2007, Angela Schijf spoke her text with a Limburg accent. She previously had a role for the film Van God Los for which she had to adopt a Venless accent.
Reinout Oerlemans
But after three days of shooting, producer Reinout Oerlemans decided to delete the Limburg accent. “It is so strange that you are the only one who has that Limburg accent and the rest do not,” Oerlemans said to the actress, according to the podcast. In the studio, Schijf then had to record all her text again in General Dutch, in which she also treated her text for the rest of the series.
