Mexico City. In its 13 years of existence, the Taxpayer Defense Attorney’s Office (Prodecon) has provided advice to nearly 2 million 180 thousand taxpayers, reported Armando Ocampo Zambrano, head of the organization.
At the anniversary ceremony, the official said that the institution is young and has a socially relevant essence, since it guides taxpayers in fulfilling their obligations by accompanying them in the exercise of their rights.
“Part of the challenges is to continue building this dialogue with the tax authorities, with taxpayers in the part that we have to do, which is to promote the contributory culture,” he mentioned in a brief interview with La Jornada.
“We want strong and solid taxpayers but who also have the tools to comply with their tax obligations and that is through guidance, by making information accessible,” he declared.
For this reason, Ocampo stated, at the ceremony the Tax Guide for retired people and pensioners was presented in which, in a schematic and exemplary way, information is published on when people are going to approach their retirement.
The intention is that they have all the information for the correct compliance with their tax obligations and the exercise of their rights.
“We are a human rights commission in tax matters,” he said.
