Processions, marathons and cultural events: the nightmare weekend of mobility in Rome

(Adnkronos) – Three parades, a half marathon and then cultural events and demonstrations. For Rome, October 19th and 20th between today and tomorrow is a black weekend from the point of view of mobility with closed roads and diverted bus lines.

From 9am to 1.30pm on Saturday 19 October a procession will march from Piazza Barberini to Piazza del Popolo crossing Via Sistina, Piazza Trinità dei Monti, Viale Gabriele d’Annunzio. Possible diversions or slowdowns for lines 52-53-61-62-63-80-83-85-100-119-160-492-590-C3.

From 2pm to 8pm there will be two processions at the same time. The first passes from Piazza Vittorio to Piazza dell’Esquilino, along Via dello Statuto, Via Merulana and Via Liberiana, and could cause diversions or limitations on lines 16-51-70-71-75-85-87-117-118-360 -590-649-714-C3. The second, however, runs from Piazza dell’Esquilino to Largo Corrado Ricci, crossing Via Cavour, and could lead to diversions or limitations of lines 16-70-71-75-360-590-649-714-C3.

On Sunday 20th, from 8.30 to 13.30, the Rome Half Marathon is scheduled, starting from the Circus Maximus and arriving in via degli Annibaldi (for the competitive race) and viale Terme di Caracalla (for the non-competitive one). The routes will include Lungotevere, Testaccio, Via del Porto Fluviale, Via Ostiense, Via di Porta Ardeatina, Viale Terme di Caracalla, Via Petroselli, Lungotevere, Piazza Cavour, Via Cicerone, Via Cola di Rienzo, Via Maria Adelaide, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Via del Corso, piazza del Popolo, via del Babuino, piazza di Spagna, via Due Macelli, via del Tritone, via Fontanella Borghese, via Zanardelli, via Agonale, piazza Navona, corso Rinascimento, corso Vittorio, via del Plebiscito, piazza Venezia, via dei Fori Imperiali, via Cavour. From midnight on Sunday, via del Circo Massimo, via dei Cerchi, via Cavour and via degli Annibaldi will be closed. From 5pm the closure of via di San Gregorio, piazza Porta Capena, viale Aventino. From 7.30am the entire route will be closed to traffic. Bus lines H-3Bus-8Bus-23-30-34-40-44-46-49-51-52-53-60-62-63-64-70-71-75-77-80-81 diverted -83-85-87-98-115-118-128-160-170-190F-280-492-628-715-716-718-719-766-775-781-792-870-881-913 -916F -990 -C3-Nmc-nMB-n3D.

In Ostia, in via delle Baleniere, a socio-cultural-commercial event will be held on Sunday 20 October: the road will be closed to vehicular transit in the stretch between number 2 and number 137 and lines 04, C4, C13, C02 and C20 will undergo deviations.

No detours for the weekend’s big events: the Rome Film Festival at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, the Vintage Market at the San Paolo District and the Japan Days in the spaces of the Capannelle Hippodrome.
