Proceeds from the Lions Club Lotto will help fund the treatment of the child’s brain tumors

On January 20, 2020 at the multipurpose hall of Saint-Étienne-lès-Remiremont was held the traditional lotto organized by the Lions club of Plombières-Remiremont. Since then, the Covid-19 crisis has been there. Between confinements and other limitations of gatherings, the Lions club in the sector is only resuming its classic activities.

At the beginning of 2023, the volunteers of the service club resolutely hope to reconnect with a semblance of normality and above all to revitalize the life of the group which has been reduced to sixteen members. “It saddens us,” admits Bernard Mire, the president.

This Sunday, February 5, the Lions Club of Plombières-Remiremont is organizing its “big lottery” at the Palais des Congrès in Remiremont. In addition to the festive and unifying aspect of the event, this fun event will have a solidarity aspect: all the profits will be donated to the benefit of the treatment of childhood brain tumors at the University Hospital Center of Nancy. The Lions Club International motto “We serve” is always implemented.

A pledge of €3,000

“This expensive equipment, costing more than €250,000, currently only equips two hospital departments in France, in Paris-Necker and Amiens. The proceeds from our actions have made it possible to make donations in cash or in kind in favor of families in difficulty or affected by the disease and to finance equipment, in particular for children with disabilities”, explains Marie-Françoise Boileau, volunteer within the “ Leos”. “We wanted to refocus our action on our region. This is why, like a hundred clubs in the Grand Est, we participate in the financing of this equipment which makes it possible to treat brain tumors in cryotherapy, with a probe, therefore of less invasive material, “explains the former doctor and president of the Lions. club, Bernard Mire.
