Sergio Ramos will stay away from the big game against his former club Real Madrid in the round of 16 of the Champions League this Tuesday (9 p.m.). The veteran is absent from Paris Saint-Germain (again) due to injury.
After his move last summer, Ramos still doesn’t really find his way around the Seine, which is said to be due to several factors. The Spanish daily ABC, which has its headquarters in Madrid, devotes a backstory to the former Los Blancos star, detailing Ramos’ troubles.

“He was the leader and absolute reference point in the Real Madrid dressing room, now he’s just a player like everyone else,” a source close to the 35-year-old is quoted as saying. “He’s being treated by several physiotherapists, he doesn’t like it and doesn’t trust them. And then he doesn’t get along with Pochettino (Mauricio, PSG coach; editor’s note).”

Ramos only has five competitive games for his new employer, also because of numerous injuries. In the last few weeks there have been rumors that the central defender is complaining about adjustment problems in Paris and was not even the first choice. PSG would reportedly have preferred Kalidou Koulibaly from SSC Napoli.
