Mariana Kukusheva, president of the National Union of Bakers and Confectioners, revealed a problem with bread from Germany. Bread is imported into Bulgaria. But to keep it soft and last, this bread is loaded with preservatives. Kukusheva revealed that there is the most in the daily food that comes from Germany. She announced the best news about Bulgarian bread – it gets moldy on the third day. This happens because it is leavened and means that the product is genuine and with quality ingredients.
Bread holds its price for an extremely long time. By the end of 2024, bread will be sold with zero VAT, and if all other components remain within the same parameters, there will be no concern about the price of bread rising, Mariana Kukusheva also commented.
She clarified that at the moment there is no room for concern about bread, because the harvest is good in terms of quantity. Bulgaria’s golden grain is of high protein quality and this will lead to a good turnover for Bulgarian farmers, she said in the BNT studio.
And he clarified how Bulgarian bread is produced – with flour, yeast and gluten.
According to her, the sun has done a wonderful job. Bulgarian bread is made with the best wheat produced and any speculations by incompetent people are just an attempt to insult the bread, Kukusheva emphasized.
“Bulgaria produces many times more wheat and we participate with self-confidence in the Black Sea basin,” she assured.
Kukusheva pointed out that currently the price of wheat is extremely low, and logistics is very expensive. It is not worth transporting cheap goods with very expensive transport. The security that the wheat provides as it is processed in the mills is something that insures the financial risk of each miller, she explained. And rest assured – no processing of any other wheat, other than Bulgarian wheat, has been detected anywhere.
