The Houston Rockets and the Cleveland Cavaliers reached a deal today. The Cavaliers will send a rising star Kevin Porter Jr. who has been problematic off the court to the Rockets in exchange for a future protected second-round pick.
Porter, the 30th pick in the 2019 Draft, has had difficulties off the court both in his time with the Cavaliers and in college at USC. The Cavaliers were ready to move off his salary. For the Rockets, he’s clearly a reclamation project. https://t.co/dOtRdjVvA6

Porter was selected by the Cavaliers with the 30th overall pick in 2019, but since college, he has been on the sidelines. He hasn’t played this season due to injury, but he made a lot of noise in the locker room last week.
When he walked into the Cavaliers locker room last weekend, he found his locker room position was occupied by Taurean Prince, who had just been traded from the Nets. Porter’s locker room was moved to the side of the young bench, so he started yelling and threw food.
Last year, Porter was involved in a car accident and was arrested for illegal possession of firearms, but this charge was eventually dropped.
As a rookie last season, Porter played 50 games for the Cavaliers, averaging 23.2 minutes, 10.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. Although off the court is a problem player, but the talent on the court is quite worth looking forward to.
