O Vasco goes to the field with at least one change to face Flamengo, this Sunday, at 6 pm, in Maracanã, for the second leg of the Carioca Championship semifinal. Coach Maurício Barbieri should choose Rodrigo in place of Marlon Gomes.
Vasco’s probable lineup: Léo Jardim, Puma Rodríguez, Capasso, Léo, Lucas Piton, Rodrigo, Andrey, Jair, Alex Teixeira, Gabriel Pec and Pedro Raul.
The lineup with three defensive midfielders repeats the strategy that Barbieri used in the other classics of the season. In the 3-2 loss to Flamengo in the first leg, Rodrigo stayed on the bench, but was missed by the team. He had been one of the best in the victory over the rival for the first phase of Carioca.
Vasco needs to beat Flamengo by any score to advance to the final. The positive result is also important for the team to recover from the blow suffered last Thursday, when it was defeated on penalties by ABC and was eliminated from the Copa do Brasil.
