“Pro Volunteers Chairman suggests Prabowo-Ganjar as ideal pair for 2024 presidential election”

Chairman of the Pro Volunteers Jokowi (Projo) Budi Arie Setiadi said that the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto and Governor of Central Java reward Pranowo is the ideal partner to compete in the 2024 presidential election contest.

“Ideally Pak Prabowo and Pak Ganjar are one (pair), ideally. Or not Ganjar-Prabowo, Prabowo-Ganjar, ideally. It’s just that it’s getting more and more complicated,” said Budi Arie at a press conference at the DPP Projo Office, South Jakarta, as reported Between Thursday (25/5/2023).

Budi said he had consulted with Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to realize the Prabowo-Ganjar duet discourse which he called difficult.

Jokowi, he continued, was still trying to make the duet between Prabowo and Ganjar, or vice versa, happen.

“How come it’s getting more and more difficult. The last time I also spoke with the president, ‘how are you, sir?’, ‘We’re still working on that (Jokowi’s answer)’. It’s just that it’s getting longer, more difficult, huh,” he said.

Even though he has hopes, Budi is trying to be realistic and doesn’t want to force it if Prabowo-Ganjar don’t end up side by side in the 2024 presidential election.

“The unity effort is still there, if the reality is rather difficult, so be it, that’s it. Because we also see that there is also a possibility of separation. There is also a possibility of unity,” he said.

At the start, he said that the dynamics of the 2024 presidential election had so far focused on the names Prabowo Subianto and Ganjar Pranowoas obtained from the people’s deliberations (musra) and survey results.

“We also don’t deny that today’s facts have the potential to be between Prabowo and Ganjar, both competing and side by side. So both of them, it is fate that determines what Indonesian politics will be like,” he said.

Previously, Budi said that Projo would discuss 10 simulated pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates during organizational consolidation to follow up on the results of the people’s deliberations (musra) to determine the direction of political support for the 2024 Presidential Election.

“These are 10 presidential/wapres presidential simulations that we will offer regional friends to discuss and decide together, which one is the most suitable for this nation,” said Budi during a press conference at the DPP Projo Office, South Jakarta, Thursday.

The ten presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs simulated by Projo are:
