“There is a big scandal – a pro-Russian party has taken control of the Bulgarian special services. Our national security is at risk.”
This was stated by the chairman of the DPS parliamentary committee, Delyan Peevski, commenting that on a rotational basis, “Vazrazhdane” headed the parliamentary Commission for the control of the special services.

Peevski demanded urgent changes to the rules of the National Assembly.
“The chairman of this commission has access to the most secret information. So far, “Vazrazhdane” have behaved like people who will not head this commission, because they know what it is about and that they are dependent. Therefore, I will ask that this commission have a permanent chairman, not one on a rotating basis,” Peevski pointed out.
Kiril Petkov and Atanas Atanasov from PP-DB also commented on the case. The position is currently held by People’s Representative Nikolay Drenchev.
According to Petkov, he supports the proposal for a permanent chairman of the commission, which will be discussed by the PP-DB parliamentary group.

According to Petkov, “Vazrazhdane” takes strong anti-European positions.
“I don’t think that “Vazrazhdane” can be allowed to chair this commission,” emphasized Petkov.
Atanas Atanasov clarified that he previously had information about a prepared proposal to change the rules for organizing the activities of the National Assembly.
“We will see it, discuss it and make a decision,” he said.
