Pro-Russian blogger Mikael Badalyan and Sputnik Armenia radio journalist Ashot Gevorkyan were released from arrest by decision of the Investigative Committee (IC). Sputnik Armenia reports this in its telegram channel

“Arrested blogger Mikael Badalyan and Sputnik Armenia journalist Ashot Gevorkyan, by decision of the body carrying out the proceedings, were released from arrest,” Sputnik Armenia reports in its telegram channel, referring to the investigative committee. According to investigators, a package with a machine gun, cartridges, and several grenades was placed in the trunk of his car without his knowledge.

Badalyan and Gevorkyan were detained on September 6 in the city of Goris in southern Armenia. As reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, the men were suspected of illegal trafficking in firearms. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova called this a provocation detentionaimed at “darkening” ties between Russia and Armenia.
