Pro League chairman Peter Croonen reacted disappointed to the decision of the government to no longer allow an audience at football matches. “Given the situation, we obviously understand”, says Croonen. “We have done everything we can to safely admit the public. Protocols have been developed for this, which have been approved at local, regional and federal level. We have always been flexible to make adjustments. It is what it is, politicians have all the information to make a decision. We trust that this decision is the right one for public health. ”

What is the financial difference between a limited audience and no audience at all? “The restrictions are such that they are financially almost equivalent to playing without an audience. But the fan experience is a big difference. A lot of supporters long for the game. Even with a limited number of fans you have a completely different experience. We will miss it hard and will do everything we can to safely allow supporters back into the stadium as soon as possible. ”
