PRO-Kaufland: Rutter Immobilien is planning demolition and new construction
It is one of the important and traditional shopping centers in Linz: The PRO-Kaufland in Urfahr near the motorway bridge over the Danube.

Demolition planned
What is certain is that the existing shopping center will be demolished promptly and rebuilt using the latest technology. Stefan Rutter announced this when presenting the plans.
He assured that above-ground parking spaces should be largely avoided.
Instead of the parking spaces, space will be created for the already announced “modern urban development with apartments and other uses with central green space”.

Two steps planned
Part one of the project will be the construction of a new shopping center with restaurants, retail areas and local suppliers on around half of the area.
The extensions to the additional mixed uses will be designed on a further three to four independent building sites.
This requires around 12,000 to 15,000 square meters of land area. For this, a development and circulation concept including connections to public transport will also be taken into account; the entire area should be designed to be pedestrian and bicycle friendly.
Clothes farmer clears out
There is also news in downtown Linz: the constant topic Clothes farmer on the country road starts moving. The clothing company has begun clearing out the old store and an initial project has been submitted for approval.
