Pro-Gaza students, the first protest tents in Bologna

(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, MAY 05 – The first tents for the rights of the Palestinian people have been set up in Bologna: the “acampada” of students has begun. At least a hundred young people at work, a relaxed and festive atmosphere, music playing, around thirty tents set up in Piazza Scaravilli, the heart of the university area of ​​the city, enclosed between porticoes, in front of the rectorate of the Alma Mater. The streaming of the transnational assembly of Palestinian Youth, open on Twitch, was projected on a sheet as a big screen. With links from colleagues from other struggling universities: France, UK, USA and also from Birzeit, Palestine. Thus began the “student intifada”, a campaign of initiatives and events in view of the great mobilization for May 15th, the day of remembrance of the Nakba, in which the appeal is to all Italian universities to camp in the courtyards of universities. Tomorrow in Bologna the Young Palestinians will present their program of meetings and guests for the next few days.
