Pure product of the Americans Colomiers who will travel to Agen on Friday evening (19:30) and from which he has climbed all levels since his time at rugby school, the young 3rd center line is proving to be among the professionals.

With a grandfather, Jean-Louis, who was a figure and a ray of the columérine rugby school, a father, Stéphane, who wore the colors of Colomiers in the best years when the club played in the Top 16 and stood out on the European scene, Yann Peysson could hardly escape rugby. “With my grandfather at rugby school and then seeing my father play, it seemed natural to practice this sport,” confides this pure columérin product, which is honoring his first year of professional contract. At 22 he is one of those young players on whom Colomiers has so many hopes. Already last season, Yann Peysson (1.92m; 103kg) did more than just point the tip of his nose. With 10 games played, of which 5 as a starter, the young 3rd center line showed all his talent. Mobile, effective in aerial conquests, at ease with the ball and playing in spaces “fits perfectly with the columérine game identity”, emphasizes Julien Sarraute, the main coach.
“He has an excellent reading of the game, excellent timing but he still needs to progress in the defensive sector, show more resistance on tackling”, considers Fabien Berneau, coach of the forwards, who made him “one of our line leaders.
Yann Peysson is undeniably about to cross a plateau and this season should be the confirmation for this smiling boy, happy with everything that happens to him. “My priority is to be able to play, to gain experience. It happens in Colomiers and it’s okay. Like Jean Thomas (his 2nd row friend, ed), it’s good to be a rookie in the ranks of his club’s rugby school and reaching the top is also a source of pride, says Yann Peysson who follows in his father’s footsteps. “But for me to be Yann, not the son of…”, he warns.
