The Peter R. de Vries Foundation offered a reward of € 250,000 for the gold tip in the missing 1984 case of Germa van den Boom. De Vries said before his death last year that he wanted to solve the case. Money is available to the tipster who provides location information.

Germa van den Boom, then 19, disappeared at the end of July 1984. She was home alone on weekends because her parents and younger brother were away for a few days. Her last sign of life was at night around 1:45 am, when the boy next door left her at home in Nieuwendijk (North Brabant). Earlier she had been out with her friends.

Since Van den Boom did not answer his parents’ calls on Sunday and Monday mornings, the family decided to go home. Inside, they found evidence of a crime, such as a table that had been moved. The police found traces of blood a week later. To date, however, it is a mystery what happened to her and where Van den Boom went.

‘Now or never’

“The family realizes that the renewed attention for Germa’s disappearance will again arouse quite a few emotions, especially among the residents of Nieuwendijk,” says Conny Langerak, Germa’s older sister. “However, for us as a family, especially after so many years, it is indigestible not to know what happened to her. That’s why we, with the Peter R. de Vries Foundation, are doing everything for the umpteenth time. It’s now or never. more”.
