After almost four months and 30 draws without a winner, Mega Millions lottery jackpot of $1.13 billion It was finally claimed during the draw held on the night of this Tuesday, March 26.

Georgia Lottery President and CEO and Mega Millions Consortium Lead Director Gretchen Corbin congratulated the New Jersey Lottery on the sale of the winning ticket, celebrating not only the new billionaire, but also the numerous prizes raised for charitable causes during this cycle.
Since the Mega Millions jackpot was last won on December 8, 2023, several smaller prizes have been awarded in the 30 drawings that have been held. Last week, there were thirteen tickets that matched the five white balls to win the second prize, which consisted of two million dollars.
This is not the first billionaire to appear in New Jersey, as this is a founding member of the Mega Millions Consortium since it was formed in 2002. The most recent lucky one, before this Tuesday, emerged on July 24, 2020.
The Mega Millions lottery can be played in 45 states in the country, including Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands. Each ticket costs two dollars, and half of the proceeds stay in the state where the winning ticket was sold, to support designated charitable causes and pay retailer commissions.
Drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 pm Eastern Time in Atlanta, Georgia.
Now, with the Mega Millions jackpot claimed, the game’s Jackpot is reset, meaning $20 million will be drawn next Friday, March 29.
