The prize money for the US Women’s Open will be increased significantly this year. The winner of the golf tournament will receive 10 million dollars (converted 8.8 million euros). The 2021 champion, the Philippine Yuka Saso, received 5.5 million dollars (4.8 million euros).
The increase is part of a partnership between organizer USGA and a new sponsor. “For more than 75 years, little girls around the world have dreamed of winning the US Women’s Open,” said CEO Mike Whan. “This partnership with ProMedica enables us to grow the championship sustainably every year.” The tournament will take place in early June.
The prize pool is not yet equal to that of the US Open. The prize money for the male variant was $12.5 million last year. In 2026, the prize money for the women should be 12 million dollars, USGA says.
