Prize for Linz Bruckner Orchestra and RSO Vienna

The Bruckner Orchestra Linz and its chief conductor Markus Poschner receive the prestigious “Special Achievement Award” of the International Classical Music Award 2024 for the complete recording of all versions of Anton Bruckner’s symphonies, which were recorded together with the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna. “I feel extremely honored and am infinitely proud of the magnificent and incredible performance of two top-class Austrian orchestras: the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, together with the tireless recording teams,” says Bruckner Orchestra chief conductor Markus Poschner.

“What an achievement to perform Bruckner’s symphonies in this fresh and cliché-free way, full of temperament, dedication and passion, in a completely new tone – the intensive work was worth it,” said Poschner. The award ceremony will take place on April 12th in Valencia, the complete box will be released around the 200th birthday of our Genius Loci. The recording excellence is thanks to Erich Pintar from Studio Weinberg.
