Private Space Flight Team Completes Mission to ISS and Returns to Earth Aboard Crew Dragon

[신화망 로스앤젤레스 6월2일] A private space flight team from the private US company Axiom Spaces completed its mission to the International Space Station (ISS) on the 30th (local time). They returned to Earth aboard SpaceX’s ‘Crew Dragon’.

Crew Dragon left the ISS and returned to Earth at 11:05 a.m. on the 30th, US Eastern Time. At around 11:04 pm on the 30th, US Eastern time, Crew Dragon landed near the coast of Florida, USA.

This project is a commercial joint project with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as the ‘AX-2’ mission organized by the American private company Axiom Space. The AX-2 mission is Axiom Space’s second spaceflight mission composed of civilians. Four people participated in the AX-2: Peggy Whitson and John Schopener of the United States, and Ali Al-Karni and Rayana Barnawi of Saudi Arabia. They stayed at the ISS for about 8 days and conducted more than 20 scientific and technological experiments in various fields such as life and physical sciences and engineering technology.

According to NASA, Crew Dragon returned to Earth with about 136 kg of scientific equipment and supplies.

Crew Dragon was loaded onto a Falcon 9 rocket on the 21st and launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA. The next day, Crew Dragon successfully docked with the ISS.
