Restrictions on the use of subsidized fuel RON 90 Pertalite will be applied to two categories of gasoline engines, namely engines above 2,000 cc and above 1,500 cc.
For the initial stage, it will target cars with engines above 2,000 cc as early as September 1, 2022. While cars above 1,500 cc are not allowed to drink Pertalite, it is still being studied.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Irto Ginting said that currently his party is still waiting for official regulations before this policy can be implemented.

The regulation is a revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 191 of 2014 concerning the Supply, Distribution and Retail Selling Price of Oil Fuel.
“We are still waiting for the revision of Perpres 191,” Irto told reporters CNNIndonesia.comThursday (4/8).
So what cars will be banned from using Pertalite if the rules are officially signed.
From the Toyota brand, there are several gasoline cars with engine capacities above 1,500 cc, including the Alphard, Vellfire, Fortuner 2.7, Camry, Corolla Altis, Innova 2.0, and the Supra sports car.
Next up are the Hyundai Santa Fe 2.5 and the Honda HR-V 1.8.
Lalu Mercedes-Benz, GLE 450 4MATIC AMG Line, GLE 450 4MATIC Coupé AMG Line, GLS 450 4MATIC AMG Line, Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC, S 450 4MATIC, dan Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4MATIC+.
Next up are BMW, including the 740Li Opulence, 840i Gran Coupé M Technic, 840i Coupé M Technic, X5 xDrive40i xLine, M3, M4, M5, to M8.
However, a number of other premium models and older category cars have been observed to use gasoline engines with capacities above 2,000 cc, such as the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
Previously, the Pajero Sport was sold with a 3,000 cc V6 engine, but since 2016 or when the all new launched, this variant was removed or no longer sold.
Machines under 1,500 cc can use Pertalite
Segment low On average MPVs are allowed to drink Pertalite, such as Toyota Avanza, Daihatsu Xenia, Mitsubishi Xpander, Nissan Livina, Wuling Confero, Honda Mobilio, and Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid.
Then Toyota Rush, Daihatsu Terios, Suzuko XL7, Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, to DFSK Glory i Auto. Other cars have LCGC such as Toyota Agya, Daihatsu Ayla, Toyota Calya, Daihatsu Sigra, and Honda Brio.
To note, vehicle owners must use the right car fuel according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
