One person was injured in a fire at Vught Prison (PI Vught) on Friday evening. A spokesperson for the fire department said he was a person who was in the cell.
PI staff extinguished the fire, after which the firefighters helped ventilate the building. The injured was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
A police spokesperson was unable to comment on the incident. The cause of the fire is unknown. It is also unclear whether an investigation into arson will be conducted.
It is not known in which part of the complex the fire broke out. The Extra Secure Institution (EBI) is also part of the PI in Vught.
