A first arrest
The young man had however only arrived in Montluçon for a day, this Friday, February 18, when he was arrested by the police. An arrest in flagrante delicto when he has just broken into a house in the Blanzat district of Montluçon.
The young man explains that he entered the house to sleep there, having no place to live. But on him, various objects stolen from this same house, as well as cannabis resin, are found. To make his case worse, the young man gives officials a false identity.

But by dint of research, the investigators will discover his true identity and will give him a summons for a subsequent hearing in court.
The next day, return to the police station
The next morning, Saturday February 19, however, the young man was taken a second time to the Montluçon police station. This time, by a man from whom he stole a satchel two days earlier from a parked vehicle. A theft that the defendant recognizes.
But during this second police custody, the investigators will make the link with two other burglaries committed between Thursday 17 and Friday 18 February, near the bag theft and with the same procedure as for the break-in on Friday February 18 for which the young man has already been arrested. Of these two new burglaries, the defendant recognizes only one.

The court therefore sentenced him
six months’ imprisonment (the public prosecutor had requested eight), with continued detention. He will also be banned from staying on French territory for five years.
Of the three burglaries for which he was prosecuted, the defendant was found guilty of two. He was released for the one he denies being the author.
