A teenager with the initials RP (16) originating from Garut, West Java, was secured because he was caught carrying a sharp weapon when he arrived South Jakarta Police. Previously, Chairman Habib Bahar Lovers (PHB) Korda Garut met someone in the area of Petamburan, Central Jakarta.
“So before coming here, this RP was from Petamburan,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for South Jakarta Police AKBP Jimmy Christian Samma during a press conference at South Jakarta Police, Jl Wijaya II, South Jakarta, Friday (18/12/2020).
Jimmy said that RP left Garut on December 12, 2020. From Garut, he met someone at Petamburan, Central Jakarta.
“The person concerned has been active in the past three days in Petamburan to meet some of his friends. His activity was to meet friends there, then be around the Petamburan mosque,” said Jimmy.
It was only on Thursday (17/12) yesterday that RP visited the South Jakarta Police. He was accompanied by a friend with the initials ABA.
Before being secured by the police, the RP was circling around the South Jakarta Police. Because of his suspicious actions, the police then secured him and was caught carrying sharp weapons.
“(Sharp weapons) came from Petamburan, from the colleagues concerned,” he added.
The police are still investigating the person RP met was a member of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI).
“We have not yet studied whether it is related to FPI or not. What is clear is that the person concerned came from Garut to Petamburan, from Petamburan to here, “he said.
The police are also still exploring RP activities for three days in Petamburan before going to the South Jakarta Police.
“We are again deep, what I said earlier is his intention. Actually again deep what is the idea, the idea, what are the intentions for us to explore, “he said.
