Princesses Make Their Cinema at Château de Maintenon: Immersive Film Set Finery and Activities for Children on June 18, 2023

The Princesses make their cinema in Maintenon (Eure-et-Loir)! The Château de Maintenon, near Chartres, will indeed put on its finery as a filming location, to immerse you in the backstage of the history of cinema, during the second edition of its festival “Maintenon fait son cinéma”, until June 18, 2023.

As part of this festival week, the Departmental Council of Eure-et-Loir and the castle have called on the association “Travellers of Time” to animate the closing day.

Thus, this Sunday June 18in parallel with the projection on the big screen of the cartoons “Rapunzel” et “the beauty and the Beast”, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in decors inspired by these universes, and take part in numerous events, within the gardens of the Château de Maintenon.

On the program: harp storytelling, “face painting” make-up, loan of outfits, introduction to the waltz, creative workshops, sword fights, flashmob, giant chess game… and other surprises.

Surrounded by their favorite characters, the little princes and princesses will spend a magical day there.

Up to 3000 visitors expected!

Between 1,000 and 3,000 visitors are expected on this single day, Sunday June 18, given the success of a previous edition.

The “Voyageurs du Temps” association was born in 2017, from the passion of two friends, Flore and Anaïs, who wanted, through events and activities for the general public, to allow everyone to be transported to different worlds. and eras.

During these years, the association gradually became known in the region.

This is their second collaboration with the Château de Maintenon, for a day of this type.

What to expect on June 18

Throughout the day, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

• Decorations: carriage for posing, floral hoop, photo point.
• Giant chess game with C’Chartres Échecs (square lawn).
• Rapunzel fresco, painting workshop (tulip area).
• “Face painting” make-up, with Angel Make Up Professionnel (tulip area).
• Belle and Rapunzel’s wardrobe: loan of outfits (while stocks last).

■ 11 a.m.: broadcast of Rapunzel of Disney on the big screen (in the orangery) – reservation recommended.

■ 11 am: Storytelling and Harp “Beauty and the Beast” with Lily Musica Harpe et Cie.

■ 11:30 am: sword duel, between Eugene and the guard, by Armata Compagnie (main courtyard).

■ From 12 noon: Dance of the ribbons and Colin maillard with Rapunzel (tulip area).

■ 2.30 pm: group duel of Gaston and the villagers against the Beast, by Armata Compagnie (main courtyard).

■ 3 pm: Introduction to the waltz, with Belle and her prince, accompanied by musicians (entrance to the gardens).

■ 3.30 pm: Shield-making workshop with Rapunzel (forecourt).

■ 4 p.m.: broadcast of the beauty and the Beast of Disney on the big screen (in the orangery) – reservation recommended.

■ 4 p.m.: fabric show with Rapunzel from Les Dépareillés (in front of the lawn).

■ 4.30 pm: introduction to the choreography of the 5 pm flash mob with Belle and her Prince.
