Thailand’s oldest princess, Princess Bajrakitiyabha (Princess Bajrakitiyabha), suffered a heart attack while training military dogs on Nakhon Racha Island. Although she was immediately sent to hospital for treatment, the doctor believed that the older princess was brain dead and may never recover. The Thai royal family also released a statement earlier confirming her death, but have yet to officially announce her death.

Thai Princess Pacha Rakitiyapa, 44, was reported to have suffered a heart attack and lost consciousness on Wednesday night on Nakhon Racha Island, north of the capital, while training her dog. After many hours of CPR, Ye Kemo is currently used to maintain signs of life. Although the royal family once announced that the Princess Eldest’s condition is stable, on the 16th her doctor judged that she was in a state of brain death and was difficult to recover.
Although the Thai royal family also released a statement confirming that the eldest princess was brain dead, they did not officially announce the death. As Prince Dipangkorn and Princess Chulabhorn are rushing back to Thailand from overseas, media speculation that the royal family may officially announce the eldest princess’s death after the two return to China.
Princess Pacha Rakitiyapa is the eldest daughter of King Vajiralongkorn of Thailand and the only daughter of King Vajiralongkorn and his original wife. Although Thailand’s royal succession rules tend to favor male heirs, the eldest princess has always been considered heir to the throne because Prince Tibanggong suffers from autism. Now that news of her brain death comes out, she will also upset the future succession pattern of the Thai royal family.
