The pictures show Mako at the US household goods chain “Bed, Bath & Beyond”. She wears a casual outfit, consisting of a dark blue sweater with a V-neck, loose-fitting jeans, casual leather boots and an oversize coat in pine green.
A huge yellow bag dangles over her shoulder. No wonder, because according to the “Daily Mail”, the freshly baked New Yorker is said to have been shopping all sorts of things for an hour and a half – including things like bath towels, coat hangers, storage baskets and paper towels.
Princess Mako gets lost in the streets of New York
While Kei Komuro’s wife is strolling through New York, what happens to quite a few in this big metropolis happens: She gets lost – at least that’s what the Daily Mail claims often walked back and forth on the street several times until she found her way around, “says the British daily.
What is also noticeable: In contrast to her departure from Tokyo, when the eldest child of Crown Prince Akishino, 55, and Crown Princess Kiko, 55, were surrounded by security guards, this time she walked through the aisles all by herself with a shopping cart.

Already last Saturday, November 20, 2021, Mako was spotted with her kei in Manhattan, as pictures from “Daily Mail” attest – also apparently without security personnel. They were walking towards Bryant Park. He wore a light gray faux fur jacket, jeans and slip-ons from the brand “Vans”, she a green teddy fur jacket, also jeans and leather boots.
Princess Mako: a life full of blows and sadness
In the pictures, the couple looks relaxed, easy-going and relaxed – very different from their press conference for the wedding on October 26th. It was a day when sadness was written on both of their faces. Mako and Kei had gone through too much not to approve of a marriage to a commoner who was in the headlines because of family problems, despite protests from the Japanese people.
Emperor Naruhito’s niece, 61, is said to have suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder after the hardships that followed her engagement in 2017. This is what the Japanese Imperial Household Agency claims. Mako himself never confirmed that.
