Princess Leonor has entered the Naval School of Marín without the accompaniment of her parents, where she will continue her military training. Upon her arrival in Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, “Alférez Borbón Ortiz”, as she is known in the military, was received with honors corresponding to her position as Royal Highness.

She later joined the group of 628 Navy students, with whom she will share various training sessions for the last four months of 2024. Routine and discipline, in a broad and demanding study plan, is what awaits Doña Leonor during her stay at the Naval School of Marín.

According to the established study activities, they are scheduled for eight hours, and will only be interrupted at mealtime. Her daily activities will begin at 6:45 in the morning, with the rule of making her bed perfectly; she will also share a room with other students; from this day on, her dress code will be an immaculate white suit, just as her father wore it in 1986 and now King Felipe VI.

The training of the heir to the Spanish throne includes maneuvers in school simulators, and navigation conditions both during the day and at night.

The Princess has joined as a Midshipman I, this in the third of the five courses that will be taught at the School, until next December.

In January, she and the other students will embark for a few months on the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano, where she will receive theoretical classes and manual work at sea until July 16, 2025.
